This black and white contact sheet features the artist, English singer, musician and actor David Bowie with dyed red hair, a hat and a mustard yellow suit, designed by Freddie Burretti, sitting on a chair and photographed for a magazine in Los Angeles, 1974. 

Terry O'Neill photographed Bowie numerous times, capturing him in a range of poses and settings. He photographed Bowie in the studio, on stage, and on the streets of London, and his images helped to define the musician's public image.
