Throughout her former 20-year career as a marketing executive in fashion and beauty, Marie Audier D'Alessandris was privileged to work with some of the most talented photographers in the industry, along with their teams of makeup artists, hairdressers, and stylists.
She was struck by the fact that, with so much talent on set, only a few images were chosen to represent each shoot, whether it was for an editorial feature, an ad, or for the photographer’s personal portfolio. Those images would then have a very short lifespan before getting archived. She always found this a terrible waste and decided to give those extraordinary images a second life with The Selects gallery.
"Fashion photographers are the new painters. The quote by Karl Lagerfeld sums it all. With the major shifts in the media world, we will all soon be nostalgic about that incredible creative talent that was bubbling on a set and populated major glossies' says Marie Audier D’Alessandris,
The Selects combs through the archives of past and present beauty and fashion images and displays them within thematic exhibitions in extensive formats.
Printed in limited edition and in more copies than traditional galleries, these original pictures are produced with museum archival quality.
